Main Structure and Feature
The semi gantry crane is mainly composed of four parts: bridge frame, cart operating mechanism, hoisting mechanism, and electrical.
Bridge
The bridge frame of the semi gantry crane is mainly composed of the main girder, upper girder, lower girder, outrigger, and ladder platform.
Main Girder
- The main girder of the semi gantry crane is the main load-bearing component of the hoist crane, and it is also the running track for the suspension of the electric hoist
- The main girder of the semi gantry crane is formed by welding a U-shaped groove formed by cold bending of steel plate and I-steel.
- The steel plate material of the semi gantry crane is Q235B or Q345B (similar to foreign steel Fe37 or Fe52)
- The camber F of the main girder of the semi gantry crane should be (1/1000~1.4/1000)S, and the maximum camber shall be within the range of S/10 in the middle of the span.
- The electric hoist trolley of the semi gantry crane runs on the I-beam flange. When the hoist is in the middle of the main girder, the full-load natural vibration frequency of the main girder is not less than 2Hz.
- The two ends of the main girder of the semi gantry crane are equipped with buffers to ensure the safe operation of the trolley on the main girder.
Upper beam, lower beam
- The upper and lower beams of the semi gantry crane are the foundation for supporting the main beam and the load, as well as the link between the main beam and the running mechanism, and are one of the main load-bearing components of the crane metal structure
- The semi gantry crane is mainly tailor-welded by steel plates into a box-shaped structure, which is light in structure, good in rigidity, beautiful in appearance and good in welding process performance

Landing Leg
- The outriggers of the semi gantry crane are composed of upper flange, lower flange and box-shaped support columns assembled by steel plates.
- The upper flange of the semi gantry crane is large and the lower flange is small, so that the outriggers become a variable cross-section structure with a large upper and a small lower section, which can effectively carry vertical and horizontal loads.
- The main beam and the upper cross-end beam of the semi gantry crane are contacted by a bolt plus/minus load flange hanging contaction structure. The structure is simple, the installation is convenient, and it is convenient for transportation and storage.
- The main girder of the semi gantry crane and the two legs symmetrically arranged on both sides of the main girder are fastened by bolts to the two flanges, and the two legs are narrowed up and wide down to form a certain angle to form an “A” The font structure improves the stability of the crane.
- The outriggers of the semi gantry crane and the lower beam are contacted by bolts.
Ladder Landing
The ladder platform of the semi gantry crane is welded by angle steel, flat steel, round steel, etc., and is contacted with the angle steel welded on the outrigger through bolts, avoiding on-site welding and making it easy to disassemble.
Crane Travelling Mechanism
The trolley running mechanism of the semi gantry crane is driven separately, which is mainly composed of a running motor, a running reducer, and a wheelset. The whole device is simple in structure, small in size, low in noise, generous in appearance, safe and reliable in use, and convenient in installation and maintenance.
Motor
The trolley running mechanism of the semi gantry crane adopts the ZDY series brake type motor, and the motor has its own brake for reliable braking. The motor is arranged above the lower beam to save space.
Reducer
The trolley running mechanism of the semi gantry crane adopts the LDAC or LDHC type vertical “three-in-one” reducer + open gear transmission type, the reducer is small in width, and there is no coupling.
Wheel
- The trolley running mechanism of the semi gantry crane adopts LDA type wheels with double wheel edges, which is not easy to cause the wheel climbing and falling off the track.
- The end baffle of the cross beam of the trolley running mechanism of the semi gantry crane is contacted by bolts, which is detachable and convenient for installation and maintenance.

Electric protection system
Short circuit protection
Automatic air-breaker switch in main power circuit as short circuit protection of the crane control circuit.
Voltage-loss protection
The circuit structure has Voltage-loss protect function, the start button must be repressed to restart the crane when power restoration after breaking in case of the crane automatic operating.
Emergency power switch
- Rotating reset type emergency power switch like a red mushroom used for switching off power quickly in emergency condition;
- Emergency power switch set in convenient place.
Overload limiter
Overload limiter will send a hint alarm signal when the load reach 90% rated capacity
The power for lifting will be cut together with a prohibitive alarm signal when reaching 110% rated capacity
The sensor is linked with the control box, moistureproof and anti-seismic, anti-interference.
Position limiter
Fire limiter in lifting mechanism as the switch to limit the lifting height, at the same time, protect the controller
Traveling limiter in crane traveling mechanism, composed of traveling limit switch on the crane and safety rule at the place get out of the crane travel, ensure the safe travel of the crane.
A wind-proof rail clamp is installed at one end of the ground beam when used outside. Limit switch on rail clamp interlocks with main power switch, that is to say, the crane could not start when it is locked on the rail by rail clamp.
Zero position and interlock protection

Three-phase fault & voltage fault protection
Comprehensive protection in-circuit system will cut off main power automatically when three-phase fault or voltage fault in case of damaging people and equipment.
Ground protection
Metacor of crane and metal shell, raceway, the low side of the transformer of electric equipment all have grounding. Total grounding resistance≤4Ω, and the crane rails could be as a ground wire. Insulation resistance to ground≥1MΩ at normal temperature (it is a measured value of 500V megger at normal temperature).
