Foundry crane, also known as ladle crane, is an important piece of lifting and transporting equipment used in steel-making and the continuous casting processes. It is specially designed to lift and transport liquid steel ladle and it is applied to environments with high temperatures, dust, and heavy-duty work.
Main Structure
Mainly composed of bridge frame, trolley, traveling mechanism, and electrical equipment.
Note: The main hook is used for lifting the steel ladle, the aux. the hook is used for lifting other goods; It is not allowed for Main and AUX. hooks to lift two different goods at the same time. When separate working, it is not allowed to exceed the rated lifting capacity of the main and aux. Hook. Working at the same time, it is not allowed to exceed the rated lifting capacity of the main hook.
Bridge Frame
Double girders, welding box beam, camber meets the national standard.
Steel quality is Q235B or Q345B(international Fe37 or Fe52).
The main girder adopts a box beam structure.
The main girder section is designed by a computer, to make sure the main girder is with strength and stiffness, lightweight.
The electrical equipment is inside the main girder.
The end track is divided into a rigid beam and a hinged beam.
The rigid beam is contacted by a bolt, the hinged beam is contacted by a pin shaft.
Rigid beams have “Ingot” type and level straight type.
Parts
Walking board, platform, railing, ladder, etc. are designed and manufactured according to national safety standards.
There is a safe board with a height not less than 90mm, around the walking board and platform, the height of the railing is not less than 1050mm.
In order to avoid molten steel radiation to reduce the service life of the main girder, there is a thermal protective plate below the main girder.(it is made of rock wool and steel plate)。
The conductor of the trolley is I-beam, safe and reliable, easy maintenance.

Trolley
It is composed of a motor, reducer, brake, coupling, wheel, and wire drum.
Equipped with a special motor for metallurgy, the insulation class is H.
Matched with two sets of brakes(double braking)
Trolley has a double-drive mechanism, reducer’s gear is driven on a hard-toothed surface.
Adapt 6W(19)high strength, line contact metal core wire rope, security coefficient≥6.
Crane traveling mechanism
It consists of a drive device and a wheel device.
The drive device consists of a motor, brake, reducer, etc.
The wheel device consists of an initiative wheel device, slave wheel device.
Drive devices are equipped on a pedestal, which is in the main girder’s four corners, the initiative wheel makes the crane travel, it is called “four corner’s drive”.
Electrical parts
The electrical room of the main girder adopts rock wool to prevent heat and keep warm, with an air cooler.
Electrical devices are sealed for dustproof, heat insulation, and cooling
The power supply of the trolley moving adapts the thermostability cable.
Protection
Crane is equipped with an overhead limiter or electric scale for protecting and weighing.
With anti-collision devices and audible, visual alarm devices.
The over-speed switch is fixed on the main lifting motor shaft.
The lifting mechanism has both positive contactor and reverses contactor failure protection functions.
Both crane and trolley use spring buffer.

Control ways
Closed warming cabin control, remote control.
Windows in the cabin use double-layer tempered glass.
